Pointers For Healthy Indoor Plants Miami

By Raymond Hamilton

Adding a spark to your house can be done in various ways. If you are still working on your interior design, bringing nature to your home can help spice things up. A greenery will make your home colorful, improve air quality and act as natural scent and humidifiers. However, not every homeowner will have healthy greenery. Most bonsai die after a short time. The following are tips for growing healthy indoor plants Miami.

The first consideration is to match the bonsai with the right amount of light. Talk to the nurseryman about the amount of light that is sufficient for each houseplant because the amount of light vary. Be careful to note whatever they are telling you because the distance of the greener from the windows will determine the strength of light. For some greeneries, morning light is perfect because it is soft while for others, outdoor light is the most suitable.

Not everyone can afford a water gauge to check the amount of water in the soil. To make sure the greenery does not get insufficient or excess water, get tips from the nurseryman or use your finger by dipping it two inches in the soil to check the level of water. When you realize the soil is dry, that is the right time to water. Lifting the pot can also tell when to water because it will be lighter when dry and heavier when wet.

After planting, ensure that the foliage stays clean. It is common for the dust emanating from the house to settle on the leaves or foliage of the greenery. The dust can encourage insects to thrive in those conditions leading to death of the bonsai. The dust also prevents the foliage from accessing light which is very crucial for growth. To prevent the dust from accumulating, one can take the greenery outdoor once in a while or wipe the leaves with a moist towel.

When you visit a nursery or gardening center, you will realize that all the bonsai looks healthy. The reason is that these greeneries are sprayed with environmental friendly insecticides and get fertilized often. What is done in the nursery is not enough. When you get home, look for any red flags that can tell the greenery is infested by pests and spray if necessary. Use fertilizer to replace nutrients that leach the surface due to watering.

You must use the right size of containers. When purchasing greenery, you must inquire from the nurseryman about the best container size, material and color for the plant. If the roots go deep, a bigger container will be necessary. The choice of color on the other hand depends on the theme you want in the house so the choice will be yours.

One might do most of the above things right by getting the right greenery and containers. But when it comes to soil quality, they get it wrong and that is what leads to poor indoor gardening. Select the soil that is only used for potting and steer clear of regular soil in your yard since it discourages strong roots.

With a healthy greenery, you will enjoy a lot of benefits including cutting cost of purchasing grocery and fresh air in the house. Mixing variety of houseplant species will make the home shinny and colorful too but only if you follow the above tips to care for the greenery.
