About Digital Retail Consumer Experiences

By Anna Baker

Oh, where do we begin. When you have been buying any kind of gadgets for the past eight years, you tend to get some crappy experiences before you get to those that actually are memorable in a happy light. And even then, there is no guarantee that they even count as good ones. There are far too many annoying customer services that put a stick in your jimmies. So these are our Digital Retail Consumer Experiences.

Judging from the line of empty cups, Sam was on her third espresso. The idea of approaching an armed Valkyrie with three espressos in her system was usually not advisable, but I walked up slowly and sat across from her. She did not look at me. Her attention was on the two raven feathers in front of her.

I led them back to my room. The three of us camped on the grass in the middle of my atrium. It reminded me of the old days, sleeping in Public Garden, but I am not going to tell you I was nostalgic for being homeless. Homelessness is not something any sane person would ever be nostalgic about.

She hugged me until my eyeballs bugged out like Thrynga. I had to suppress a nervous laugh, because okay was a stupid word to describe how I felt. Also, it was obvious Annabeth was not okay, either. Her gray eyes seemed heavy and weary, less like storm clouds today, and more like fog banks that could not quite lift.

Im doing a lot of tutoring. She put the word in air quotes. I remembered how weary shed looked when I met her here six days ago. If anything, she looked more tired now. An einherji, she meant. I was one of those who got reborn. I could travel the worlds. I had amazing strength and stamina. But I would never again be a normal human.

Reopen the shop. Spend a few weeks regrouping and get back to whatever normal is. Before we have to go and find. The prospect of taking on Loki again was so daunting he could not even finish the thought. I felt guilty that I had not considered Hearthstones grief the past few days. I would been too preoccupied with Thors stupid TV hammer.

It felt so good to tell her everything. I remembered how weird it had been the first time we had compared notes. Her with the Greek gods, me with the Norse. We had both left that day feeling like we would overcharged our batteries and our brains were melting. Now, at least, we had some kind of framework to build on.

It is ancestral. From my distant forefather, Ahmad Ibn Fadlan Ibn al Abbas. The guy who traveled among the Vikings. Sam nodded. When I took the feather, I could see his journey like I was there. I learned a lot of things he never wrote about, things he did not think would go over well in the court of the caliph of Baghdad.

I was not so sure about that. What had I accomplished? I felt like I had spent the last six days scrambling around doing damage control. Trying to keep my friends alive, minimizing the fallout from Lokis plot. I imagined what Samirah would say That is enough, Magnus. She would probably point out that I had helped Amir.
