By Susan Gibson

This develops as they begin to play or as they participate in physical exercise.

There are moms that work from home, and one may think that this is the perfect opportunity for kids to stay home in a loving environment. However, it is also important to think of the child and take a look at their needs and requirements. At times, they will need to develop skills which parents can't provide them with.

It is not always easy. You may be lost with the way in which you discipline your child or knowing what they need. You may feel isolated and alone as a mom. However, when there are other moms to socialize with, you will find that there is more to talk about.

However, within time they will settle down and learn to connect with the teacher as well as their peers. Parents can help their kids by asking them more about what they did during the day. They can ask them about their peers and about the teacher. It is important for them to keep talking to the child because this will make the them stay connected.

Children not only socialize by playing with games, blocks and puzzles, but they also work with other activities. These activities can consist of doing something creative as well as those exercises that build the left hand side of the brain. Left hand side brain development is more logical. Children will match up objects, they will learn to make decisions and choices or they will work with numbers and shapes as well as colors.

They build friendships which can be rewarding and sometimes challenging. This will help them in other stages in their lives. As they build friendships, they become more confident. It can especially be helpful for a child who is introverted and shy. They learn to have more self esteem.

Parents also start to notice a change in the child's behaviour over the course of the year. This relates to their habits and their manners most of all. They are also taught how to be more organized. Teachers will reinforce this and praise the child when they taking positive action. Kids will learn to say please and thank you, they will remember to tidy up their toys, and wash their hands, and they will learn how to greet someone and become more of a friendly person.

They will work in groups or in pairs doing creative activities. Art work can consist of painting and drawing. Children will have fun doing these projects. They will also take some of them home to show mom and dad. Parents need to give kids plenty of praise when they see what they have done during the day. These creative activities will help to improve the right hand side of the brain.
