When tasked to manage a particular project for a certain product, it only means your boss trusts you. You need to show to him or her that you can do it no matter what. The truth is there is not enough time, money or talent that are assigned to do the entire project when you are too focused on the goal alone. The manager must also make use of the resources well no matter how unrealistic it may be. Always make a case for it then present it to the higher management for approval.
