A branch of geophysics which is using a lot of methods such as gravitational, electrical, seismic, magnetic, and electromagnetic for the measurement of physical properties of sub surfaces and as well as the anomalies in those certain properties is called exploration geophysics. This is also often being used for detection of some useful deposits like fossil fuels, ore minerals and some other types like geothermal reservoirs, groundwater reservoirs, and hydrocarbons. This is used for the direct detection of the target style for mineralization.

The gravity field on an Earths surface may not be uniform everywhere. This may vary based on its mass distribution of the materials coming from below. Lateral changes are only interpreted and only measured using the causative geology. This article will give you the ideas on the gravity geophysical exploration method.

The definition of this is it is an attraction of forces of two different types of bodies, like for example, the attraction between the Earth and yourself. The strength of attraction depends upon the masses of those two types of bodies and on their distances. Masses are going to fall with its velocity increasing. Velocity rate is known as a gravitational acceleration.

There are a lot of rock types in the area of study that often contrast the density for causing some gravity anomalies. A specialized meter is an equipment that is used for measuring the effects in the field of Earths gravity. For some investigations that happen in near surfaces, the surface for working where in the measaurement is being done is important.

This type of method may involve the making of many mathematical corrections for measurement data. There are corrections that include the tides, the density of surface material, the spatial location of instrument, the elevation of measurement point, and the surrounding topography. All these corrections may be required on having the expertise and specialized processing for gravity data.

Involved objects would help to determine information of the Earths sub surfaces. Performing a qualitative examination is also possible. This kind of qualitative examination includes determining density, geometry, and depth of sub surfaces and also determining lateral locations of variations.

Usually, the final step in the interpretation of data is modeling. This usually involves the procedures that use the residual anomaly. In this anomaly, an interpreter must be using the density contrast in between the body of interest and surrounding material.

Typically, the survey cost will depend upon the client, either the clients will perform it by themselves, may be done by consulting companies, the data processing and interpretation amount, etc. If the clients have experienced already the collecting and processing of data, they will just rent a meter. Contacting consulting companies requires a bigger amount of cost.

However, this method has limitations. It will require significant care by the instrument observer. Before its use for reading, an instrument is required to have the careful leveling. Clamping the mechanism after reading is important for stopping vibration that will cause drift. A leveling can be manually done or by an instrument. As a conclusion, pre survey modeling is done for the establishment of anomaly sizes and also for determining whether a survey is feasible or not.
