A profit center is the subunit of a company or organization, whose responsibility is to deal with certain financial and non-financial performance measures. In relation to accounting, it is a responsibility center. This means that it may be seen as a distinct entity within the larger organization. The person in charge of this unit is known as the profit centre manager.

The center deals will increase all the revenues, and the expense of an organization and the role of the manager is to make sure that everything has been accounted for. Hence, it is the manager that will answer for any financial issue that might take place in the center. The main purpose of the center is to be able to maximize the net income of the unit.

However, the manager will not be responsible for any investments that are long term. A good example of a revenues and costs centre would be a merchandising store that is within the chain of retail.

If you want to work as a supervisor of the center, it is required of you to have some fiscal educational background. Some of the people who are qualified for this position are those who have done commerce and business management and have a bachelor's certificate. Other than the education, hey need to have personal skills like the negotiation, good relationship with people and accountability are other skills that are required for this job.

The main jobs that you will be needed to carry out as the head of a revenues and costs center include overseeing the financial operations of the store. You will also be needed to liaise with the administration at the higher level to facilitate the smooth transition of policies from the head office to the branches. You will also be needed to report directly to the managers at the top level of the chain.

The salary that they get depends on the organization that they were working it. Generally, the salary is attractive as they get at least $60000 annually. There is also additional bonus hat they get like heath cover, housing, and travel allowance.
